Have just read this thread and feel really sorry for the lad. I am happy to put another £50 in the reward kitty and hope it has the desired effect! Thanks thats the reward for information leading to conviction now at £350.

Thanks gareth they will do anything for dosh !!! hopefully will speak to somebody who knows travellers tomorrow night I spoke to the editor of the paper today, they will be doing another follow up about the reward this friday,i pointed out that this reward is for conviction,if it were simply for the dog to be returned i would hate to see a thief rewarded,it may start a nasty trend, steal a dog to claim the reward, this thief needs locking up.

Lots of safe recovery thoughts for this poor lads dog.
I hope they find the barsteward who did it, and he does get convicted.

If , as seems likely , it has been stolen for hare coursing it may be tried and dumped miles from where it is stolen . Or if it does chase sold on straight away . The family should contact the police in areas like Cambridgeshire , West Norfolk etc where a lot of coursing takes place in case it turns up there . Hare coursers will travel the length and breadth of the country to compete against each others dogs . If people are caught hare coursing the police will seize their dogs and their vehicles . This means that if they are disturbed coursing they tend to jump in their cars and take off , leaving the dogs to fend for themselves . Perhaps some one knows the phone numbers of the lurcher rescue groups ? As the dog may well end up with them .

Hi Dave, Put me down for 50 quid on the reward fund, Regards, Lawrence. Thanks the reward is now at £400 and rising,i hope to get it to £1000,someone may then take the plunge and give the police information, the thief must go to prison for this sickly crime.

Hopefully the pup could still turn up, but if it doesn't, I am happy that my £50 part of the reward pot is used towards getting the lad a replacement - hopefully in time for Christmas!

its alright talking of a replacement but that poor pup must be destraught, missing his best mate in that young lad, and i am sure that no replacement for the boy will ever replace the pup....all very sad. i would be out of myself if anyone took any of mine .. i really hope that someone somewhere will do the right thing and reunite the two ...best wishes to the family concerned....
